NUAKATA ISLAND ECO-CAMP
This is our eco-camp set up located on Nuakata Island.
Nuakata is known as the jewel of Milne Bay because it is a beautiful island surrounded by great dive sites. Our camp is in Gudi Bay (which literally means good bay in local language!) on the northwest point of the island. The camp has a communal dining area with a fireplace and kitchen, a decomposing toilet and a shower block. We have a small generator that powers our fridges (cold beer) and there are plenty of opportunities to recharge camera batteries etc. Accommodation is in spacious locally made bungalows built over the water. There are lots of places to chill out with hammocks in the trees and seats on the point to watch the sunset. The island is surrounded by world class diving/fishing/snorkelling and there are local guides offering bush walks, dugout canoe trips and local craft workshops.
Explore-PNG is not a hotel we run adventure trips and we plan each day towards what it is that guests wish to do.
So what is there to do? Well for one, you chill in one of the most beautiful places around. Then, relax over the water in a hammock, swim all day, walk the mountain through the rainforest, take photos, hang out with the clan and do some weaving or gardens, jump in a boat and go fishing for tuna or coral trout, learn to Scuba Dive, go SCUBA diving, go Snorkelling, swim with Manta rays and dolphins, kayak around the island, head off to a deserted island to picnic for lunch, eat sashimi and watch the sun go down with a cold drink. That’s all.
